Texas Tech University’s College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources recognized its 2009-2010 Dean’s Scholars at 4 p.m. Feb. 27 at the International Cultural Center. “These scholarships were established by the college to reward academic excellence and to support studious young men and women who choose to major in agricultural and natural sciences,” said Dean John Burns. With the spring growing season on the horizon, Texas Tech University’s Agricultural Economics Association has announced that it is holding its annual fertilizer sale. Environmentally ‘green’ long before it was a beltway buzzword, Larry Butler is an old school conservationist. The owner of Weatherford-based Texas Legacy Lands, a ranch and wildlife management service, honed his stewardship of the environment early as an undergraduate at Texas Tech University some three decades ago when where he was a member of what was the plant identification team.
