CASNR launches new Masked Rider Scholarship Endowment

image imageTexas Tech University’s College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources announced Friday (May 1) the creation of a new Masked Rider Scholarship Endowment. Created by Tech alumni Debbie and Gerald Nobles, Jr., of Midland, funds generated by the endowment will be used to give the iconic Red Raider mascot close to a full ride scholarship during their tenure aboard Midnight Matador, the Masked Rider’s black horse. Gamma Sigma Delta honor society features top CASNR students

Mark Moseley named NRM 2008 Outstanding Alumnus

image imageMark Moseley, a noted and long-serving rangeland management specialist with USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service, has received the Texas Tech University Department of Natural Resources Management’s 2008 Outstanding Alumnus Award. Moseley received his undergraduate degree in 1973 focusing on range and wildlife management. (more…)

 

Agricultural educator receives Fulbright Grant

image imageA nationally recognized agricultural educator from Texas Tech University has received a Fulbright Grant from the Council for International Exchange of Scholars. David Lawver, a professor in the Department of Agricultural Education and Communications, will teach extension methods during the fall semester at Egerton University near the east African provincial capital of Nakuru, Kenya. Thrill of the Grill; Ag Olympics fired up about BBQ winners

Barbecuing is normally spent talking to pals and downing cold drinks to beat the heat. But at Texas Tech University ‘Ag Olympics’ last weekend, cooking teams from across the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources had no time to chat as they tried to barbecue their way to first place in the annual competition on the Lubbock campus. AFS senior Aucutt-Hight named Tech’s new ‘Masked Rider’

Tech AEC junior Logan Allen shines at Big Spring Rodeo

image imageTexas Tech University junior Logan Allen wrapped up all-around cowboy honors as he led the Red Raiders to a positive showing April 16-18 at the Howard College Rodeo in Big Spring.
