Soil and environmental scientist Theophilus Udeigwe has been named an assistant professor in Texas Tech University’s Department of Plant and Soil Science, according to officials with the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources. Texas Tech’s annual “Celebrate Cotton” game has been scheduled for Saturday (Sept. 15) against the University of New Mexico Lobos at Jones AT&T Stadium in Lubbock. Game time is currently scheduled for 6 p.m. Officials note that cotton will be everywhere throughout the game, from displays at Raider Alley and around the stadium to promotion, special graphics and fun cotton facts during the game. Texas Tech continues its pursuit of Association of American University (AAU)-like research university status with the strategic hiring of a respected forage researcher. Two students from Texas Tech’s College of Agriculture and Natural Resources will be spending the fall semester working as interns in the nation’s capital. Running from first of September through early December, the college’s fall intern program affords selected students an opportunity to experience first-hand the government’s day-to-day operations.
