Texas Tech’s Taylor Langdon began this year’s rodeo competition where she left off last season, dominating barrel racing’s regional riders. Riding her mare ‘Frenchy,’ the senior exercise sports major from Aubrey, won the overall title at the Eastern New Mexico University Rodeo in Portales; placed third at the Sul Ross State University Rodeo in Alpine; and took first overall at the Clarendon College Rodeo in Clarendon. More than 150 Texas Tech University’s College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources students, faculty and guests took a moment to thank and express their appreciation to representatives from the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo at a special scholarship luncheon on Monday (Oct. 22) at the university’s Red Raider Ballroom in the Student Union Building. Texas Tech’s meat judging team took first place honors Sunday (Oct. 21) at the American Royal’s Intercollegiate Meat Judging Contest. The win makes the fifth consecutive year the Red Raiders have won the Omaha, Neb., competition. (more…)

Norman Hopper, Texas Tech’s College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources former Executive Associate Dean for Academic and Student Programs, has been presented a ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ from the university’s Office of International Affairs. The honor was presented at the group’s annual Global Vision Award Ceremony on Friday (Oct. 19) at the university’s International Cultural Center. (more…)
