CASNR Advisory Board Gets Makeover; New Members Come to the Table
Texas Tech’s College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources has a new Advisory Board, featuring 15 new members from across the state. The mission of the board is to promote excellence and innovation, and assist the college with strategic planning, provide feedback on current CASNR activities and priorities, as well as strengthen and enhance its image and reputation.
“These individuals will have a profound influence on our college,” said CASNR Dean Michael Galyean. “Working with them gives us the opportunity to continue to improve, and we look forward to working with them.”
Among the administrative changes on tap for the new year is a shift in the number of members – from the current 13 to 21. New members will continue to represent the college’s departments, along with its development and alumni relations office.
New members include:
- Steven Bender of Austin
- Mary Jane Buerkle of Lubbock
- Brent Clifford of Lubbock
- Mike Glen of Lubbock
- Greg Hogg of Brownfield
- Nathan Jordan of Lubbock
- Amber Miller of Lubbock
- Shelly Nutt of Lubbock
- Bob Pearson of Spearman
- Jim Prewitt of Coppell
- Karen Reams of Lubbock
- Dan Taylor of Ropesville
- Quenna Terry of Lubbock
- Todd Thompson of Lubbock
- Ross Wilson of Canyon
Members from the previous board who’ll stay on the new advising body are:
- Wayne Armacost of Raton, NM
- Charles Hodges of Dallas
- Alex Scarborough of Lubbock
- Tom Sell of Lubbock
- Mike Simpson of Canyon
- Dale Swinburn of Tulia
While members come from varied backgrounds, Galyean stressed that all share a desire to serve the college and to further the aims and goals of the departments. This, in turn, is expected to improve the resources available to CASNR and its students, he said.
