Aggie of the Month: Brandon Garcia

Aggie of the Month: Brandon Garcia

Major: Wildlife Biology; Classification: Junior; Age: 20; Organization: Conservation of Biology and Range, Wildlife, & Fisheries; Hometown: Sachse; Month: April 2013

  • Reason why you came to Texas Tech: I came to Tech because my advisor, and one of my favorite teachers, were alums. They would always tell me how their experience at Tech was one of the best decisions they could’ve made. Now I’m here at Texas Tech and I know I made the right decision.
  • Favorite thing about Texas Tech: Our school spirit is what I love most about Texas Tech. The students and faculty along with the other Red Raiders are always showing how much they love the school. It’s another reason I chose to go here.
  • Favorite thing about CASNR: The students and faculty in CASNR were all so welcoming when I first came into the college. They have helped me figure out what career path I should follow.
  • Career Goals: After graduation, I plan on either staying at Texas Tech for grad school or going to the University of Colorado. Then I’d like to work for Texas Parks & Wildlife.
  • What does the honor of being an ‘Aggie of the Month’ mean to you? It feels pretty great to be nominated by my organization (Conservation of Biology) and actually be the, ‘Aggie of the Month.’ I’ve been trying to do as much as I can by going to the Ag council meetings, SORC meetings, and club meetings. I’m glad it finally paid off.
