CASNR athletes receive academic recognition
As all Texas Tech student-athletes near the end of the 2006-07 academic year, several individuals who are also members of the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources were among those honored at the annual Academic Awards Reception on April 30.
Four were recognized as having achieved honored academic levels of achievement. Receiving the highest level of recognition of Excellence with a 3.75-4.00 grade point average were three Red Raiders.
• Masked Rider – Amy Bell, a senior animal science major from Kermit
• Baseball – Chris Ortmeier, a junior horticulture major from Highland Village
• Woman’s Track – Patience Knight , a sophomore wildlife and fisheries major from San Antonio.
Named in the Merit level with an overall GPA of 3.0-3.39 was a member of the Texas Tech Softball team, Montana Patin, a sophomore wildlife and fisheries major from Houston.
