COWamongus celebrates Easter with meat sale
Now that spring has finally arrived, it’s officially time to kick off the South Plains grilling season. In honor of the occasion Texas Tech University’s COWamongus! Creamery and Meat Company is holding an Easter meat sale at its retail location inside the Animal and Food Sciences building across from United Spirit Arena.
COWamongus officials said their selection includes an assortment of meats, ranging from fully cooked and ready to eat beef jerky, brisket and sausages to fresh pork and lamb and select beef cuts for grilling and roasting. Included among its offerings are several eclectic selections, including the department’s award winning blueberry sausage patties, jalapeno sausages, and beef and pork heads.
Among the selections are:
• Tenderloin Steaks -$10.99/lb
• Ribeye Steaks – $9.99/lb
• New York Strip – $8.99/lb
• Reg. Ground Beef -$1.99/lb
• Boston Butt Roast – $1.59/lb (boneless) / $1.29 (bone-in)
• Pork Tenderloin – $3.99/lb
• Pork Loin Chops / Rib Chops – $1.99/lb
• Bratwurst – $2.99/lb
• Beef or Pork German Sausage – $3.49/lb
• Lamb Chops – $3.99/lb
Separately, the business has a spiral sliced, bone-in, honey-glazed ham. The cost is $50.00 each, and they are available from March 24 to April 9. COWamongus was created in 2005 with the support of Texas Tech alumnus Daniel Brackeen, owner of Heritage Family Specialty Foods and creator of the TCBY yogurt chains.
