The College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources welcomes recent additions to our faculty and staff. We’re very glad to have them on board with us as we move into the future here in the heart of a dynamic university.

Bastrop native Ryan Rathmann, one of the nation’s top livestock judging team coaches, has been named an assistant professor in Tech’s Department of Animal and Food Sciences. His research focuses on scientific validations of assumptions made in live animal evaluation across all species.

Florida native Melissa Currie has been named an assistant professor in Tech’s Department of Landscape Architecture. The Cornell University graduate’s research interests focus on building understanding about the relationship between man and his environment, both built and natural.

A native of Carmen, Okla., Irlbeck has been named an assistant professor in Tech’s Department of Agricultural Education and Communications. She teaches video production in agriculture, senior seminar and agricultural products and promotions.

A native of Meadow, Ritz has been named an assistant professor in Tech’s Department of Agricultural Education and Communications. He teaches management of supervised agricultural experience programs and methods of technological change.

The plant ecologist and conservationist from the University of Florida joined the Department of Plant and Soil Science as a new assistant professor of environmental horticulture in March. Her research focuses on the biology and conservation of rare plants.

The Bangladesh native was named an assistant professor in Tech’s Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics. His research focuses on organization and structure of agricultural markets, risk management through alternative crop and livestock production.
