AAEC alum takes research, creative activity award at Texas A&M-Commerce
A doctoral graduate from Texas Tech's Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics has won back-to-back annual honors from his peers at Texas A&M University-Commerce. Jose Lopez, a '04,'08 and '09 Tech alum and an assistant professor of agribusiness with the college's Department of Agricultural Sciences, has been presented the "2012 Provost Award for Research & Creative Activity" for the College of Science, Engineering and Agriculture.
The award was given as part of Texas A&M University-Commerce's Academic Affairs Spring Awards Ceremony on Monday (April 9) at the Sam Rayburn Student Center. Last year, Lopez walked away with the "Spring 2011 A&M Student Recognition Award for Teaching Excellence" for the College of Science, Engineering and Agriculture.

Lopez received his bachelor's degree in finance and management from Ave Maria College and his master's degrees in statistics, and agricultural and applied economics from Texas Tech. His doctorate in agricultural and applied economics is from Texas Tech.
