Spring Commencement; CASNR graduates challenged to reach higher
More than 2,300 students Texas Tech students, including 183 from the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, received diplomas at the university's commencement ceremonies Saturday (May 17) at the United Supermarkets Arena in Lubbock.
During the event outstanding students carried banners representing their respective colleges. Layne Norton, an agricultural and applied economics major from Carlsbad, NM, represented CASNR. Administrators selected the banner bearers based on all-around achievement.

Before becoming chancellor in 2006, Hance was a partner in Hance Scarborough, an Austin law firm. His firm's primary focus was on state and federal administrative law, regulatory law and legislative law. In addition, he advised clients in oil, gas and other energy-related matters. He received his bachelor's degree in business administration from Texas Tech and his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law.
