Agricultural Council: Dakotah Watson named September 'Aggie of the Month'
Name: Dakotah Watson; Major: Agricultural Education; Classification: Junior; Organization: Collegiate FFA; Hometown: Ralls; Month: September 2014
Dakotah Watson, a junior agricultural education major within Texas Tech's Department of Agricultural Education and Communications was selected as the 'Aggie of the Month' during the September student Agricultural Council meeting. The Ralls native represents Collegiate FFA.
Growing up in the West Texas area, Watson had the opportunity to visit the Texas Tech campus many times. "With each visit, there was always one reoccurring part "" the kindness and respect that was always shown around Texas Tech," Watson said. Watson said his favorite part about being part of the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources is the small hometown feeling. Watson plans to become an agriculture teacher and possibly return to Tech to earn his master's degree in agricultural education.
"You feel as if you know everyone, and everyone is always helpful and kind anytime you have a problem," Watson said. Watson is grateful to have been selected for this honor. "To me, an Aggie of the Month is a person who is working diligently to best represent and lead our college in the right direction, through both their everyday lives and their involvement in the CASNR organizations."
