Breeanna Roland, a senior interdisciplinary agriculture major within Texas Tech's Department of Agricultural Education and Communications was selected as 'Aggie of the Month' during the November student Agricultural Council meeting. The Lakeside, Calif., native represents Sigma Alpha Rho Sorority.
Roland chose to attend Texas Tech in order to experience the university's wide variety of opportunities. "I knew that this university would allow me to have a great education, yet also have a well-rounded college experience," Roland said. "From the remarkable staff to the vivacious students, I have been able to grow and develop mentally and emotionally to be a successful Red Raider."
Roland said that her favorite part about being a part of Tech's College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources is the sense of family that it creates. "Between the clubs I have joined, like my sisters in Sigma Alpha, to the great friends of the 2014 agricultural education block and to the professors that are guiding me to graduation, I am very thankful," she said. "All of these people have helped make some of the greatest memories."
Roland plans to become a high school agriculture teacher in New Mexico or West Texas to help students be a successful part of the agriculture industry for the future. She is honored to have been named 'Aggie of the Month.' "This honor means a great deal not only to me but to my parents and sorority sisters. Having this honor shows that hard work, dedication and perseverance can be rewarding in time," she said.
