Agricultural Council: Kaitlin Danis named April 'Aggie of the Month'
Name: Kaitlin Danis; Major: Natural Resources Management; Classification: Junior; Organization: Society of Conservation Biology; Hometown: Flower Mound; Month: April 2015
Kaitlin Danis, a junior natural resources management major, was selected as Aggie of the Month during the April student Agricultural Council meeting. The Flower Mound native represented Society of Conservation Biology.
Danis said she chose to come to Tech because of the perfect fit that she found within the Natural Resources Management department and Tech's College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources. "After stepping onto the Texas Tech campus, I fell in love with it, and after meeting with CASNR staff, I knew I wanted to become a Red Raider so that I could be a part of the CASNR family.
"I feel like I can talk to my professors about anything, because they know who I am and they sincerely care about their students," she said.
Her favorite thing about Tech is the spirit of the students. "I love how involved the entire Lubbock community is for all of Tech's events because it feels like a big family." After graduation, Danis would like to work for a non-governmental organization that allows her to travel internationally and help improve the environment as well as educate other on how they can help do the same.
