Shelby Maresca, a junior agricultural communications student was awarded Aggie of the Month at the April student Agricultural Council meeting. The Plainview native represented Ambassadors for Agriculture.
Maresca said she chose to come to Tech because she is a third generation student. "I have bled red and black since the day I was born and Texas Tech has always had a special place in my heart. When choosing a school, the decision came easy."
Her favorite thing about Texas Tech and CASNR is the fact that it feels like home. "I am not a number, I am a person "" and everyone who surrounds me pushes me to do my best, and they know I can reach my goals."
Maresca said receiving Aggie of the Month is an honor because it shows that her hard work and determination is being recognized, and being an example of what Texas Tech and CASNR represents is noticed. After graduation, she hopes to find a career working with an agriculture company working with their media and public relations department.
