Cover Story; Texas Techsan magazine features new Bayer Plant Science building
The May/June 2016 issue of the Texas Techsan magazine featured CASNR's new Bayer Plant Science building as its cover story. The piece was authored by outgoing intern Hayley Magness and photographed by Jerod Foster. The three-page story highlights Michael Galyean, Dean of Tech's College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, and Michael Molina, Tech's Vice Chancellor of Facilities Planning & Construction. The Bayer Plant Science Building, which opened on Oct. 30, 2015, provides students with a state-of-the-art facility to learn and conduct research, as well as collaborate on projects with fellow students. At a cost of $14.3 million funded from donations, including a lead gift from Bayer CropScience, the project adds more than 21,000 square feet of laboratory and office space while also renovating more than 2,400 square feet of interior and exterior space in the Plant and Soil Science Building, which houses the Department of Plant and Soil Science.
