Agricultural Council: Evan Riley named November Aggie of the Month
Name: Evan Riley; Major: Plant and Soil Science; Classification: Junior; Organization: Alpha Gamma Rho; Hometown: Earth; Month: November
Evan Riley, a junior plant and soil science major from Earth, has been named Texas Tech's College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources Ag Council November 'Aggie of the Month.' Riley said that it's an honor to be recognized among the best students in the college on behalf of Alpha Gamma Rho.
"Being 'Aggie of the Month' means that I have done something in the CASNR community that has made me stand out among my peers and colleagues," Riley said. "I'm greatly humbled that I was chosen to be awarded this honor."
After completing his undergraduate degree in plant and soil science, Riley plans to attend graduate school, pursuing a master's of science degree in plant and soil science. From there, he hopes to begin a career working with various crops in the industry.
The welcoming community and family atmosphere are what led Riley to choose Texas Tech and CASNR. "I came to Texas Tech University because it felt like home," Riley said. "I wanted to go somewhere that challenged me, but made me feel like I could have somewhere to go when I needed it."
