More than 700 students, friends, faculty and staff of Texas Tech's College of Agricultural
Sciences and Natural Resources were on hand last night (Nov. 10) for the 89th annual Pig Roast at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center. The Pig Roast
celebrated scholarship donors, recipients and intercollegiate judging teams. In addition,
the program honored three standout leaders with Gerald W. Thomas Outstanding Agriculturalist
Awards. This year's recipients were Edwin Teeter for agricultural production; Gail Kring for agribusiness; and Randy Boman for public service. Among the evening's speakers were CASNR Interim Dean Steve Fraze, as well as Texas Tech University System Chancellor Robert Duncan, Jane Piercy, CASNR's Director of Development and External Relations, and the university's new
interim provost Michael Galyean.
