By: Lindsay Kennedy
Ten photography students from Texas Tech University's Department of Agricultural Education & Communications traveled 1,300 miles in West Texas and central New Mexico during the two-week, "Maymester" course, ACOM 2303 Digital Imaging in Agriculture. The course, led by instructor Lindsay Kennedy, uses field-based experiences to teach the basics of photography, including composition, exposure and storytelling.

For the third straight year, the class photographed the spring branding tradition of the Wrye Ranch, located southeast of Albuquerque. Class members spent four days based at the ranch's bunk houses, photographing high desert landscapes, long exposures, and agricultural subjects. The group also traveled to White Sands National Monument and Santa Fe to build upon their photography portfolios.
