Alternative Energy
In collaboration with Amarillo College, TTU at Amarillo began a series of quarterly seminars relating to Alternative and Renewable Energy generation and utilization. An inaugural seminar was held at our Amarillo classroom/research facility in October 2007 to focus on the developing wind energy facility development in the Texas Panhandle and its potential impact on education, business, industry and economic development in the Amarillo region. Two subsequent seminars have been conducted at the Amarillo Business and Industry Training Center due to increased attendance. Topics of discussion have expanded to include, Solar Energy – Photo Voltaic and Solar Thermal, Bio-Mass, Ethanol, Geo Thermal – Ground Source Heat Pumps and the economic impact for business and industry products and services tied to this expanding energy initative.
