An Evening with Ken Little Targets New Scholarship

Two years ago when Ken Little approached the School of Art about organizing a fundraiser to fund a scholarship endowment, SOA was not sufficiently staffed to make it happen.  With the Medici Circle now in place to support such activities, conversations with Ken were renewed and plans for An Evening with Ken Little are in the works.

Ken Little, a class of 1970 TTU alumnus with a BFA in painting, is currently a professor of art at the University of Texas in San Antonio.  His long career in art, working in sculpture, drawing and mixed-media projects, was recently showcased by a nationally traveling retrospective exhibition of his work.

Scheduled for Friday evening, September 14, 2007 in the waterSpace north gallery in Slaton (136 W. Garza on the downtown square), the fundraiser will feature a musical performance by Ken Little, who is also a singer and songwriter, hors d’oeuvres by a local chef and refreshments.  Current SOA students will have an art show and sale, proceeds from which will add to the revenues from ticket sales to the evening festivities.

Tickets are $50.00 per person and 100% tax deductible as all ticket sales will be used to form a scholarship endowment to support art students.  The ticket price also includes a chance to win a sculpture by Ken Little, which he has donated for the cause.

Ken Little has donated this mixed media sculpture valued at over $5,500 for the drawing. To purchase tickets, contact the Landmark Arts office at 806-742-1947 or e-mail us at soa.alumni@ttu.edu.
