2012 Texas Sculpture Symposium - San Angelo, Texas

Presented by the Sculpture Network of Texas in collaboration with San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts and the Salmon Sculpture Competition, Angelo State University Department of Art & Music, and Texas Tech University School of Art.

REGISTRATION FORM:  This year’s Symposium is FREE courtesy of the Sculpture Network of Texas with completed Registration Form (all you have to cover is travel, lodging and some meals).
Pre-Register now to receive a Symposium Badge which provides you free lunch on Saturday, access to the Symposium Attendee Sculpture Show and Reception Saturday afternoon, and a ticket to the Saturday night BBQ.

SYMPOSIUM HOTEL:   A block of rooms reserved at Inn of the Conchos, 325-658-2811, at $99.95 per night (double occupancy). Please call and book by the end of the day on October 12.  Other hotels in San Angelo might have lower rates – but Reserve Your Rooms NOW!  (A roping competition that same weekend is expected to have all the rooms in town sold out quickly.)

ATTENDEE EXHIBITION:  As in the past, Symposium attendees are invited to bring a small portable sculpture (“that you can carry under your arm” – about 12x12x12 inches) for an Attendee Exhibition.  The San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts has generously provided their COOP Gallery for display of these works.  Reception for this exhibition will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 pm on Saturday.

10:00 am - 4:00 pm - Stone Workshop – Jesús Moroles, Old Chicken Art Farm Center
10:00 am - 4:00 pm - “The Great Reveal” – unveiling of mosaic sculptures throughout San Angelo [student volunteer opportunities available]
2:00 - 3:30 pm - Installation of Symposium Attendee sculpture show at COOP Gallery
4:00 - 6:00 pm - Reception for Symposium Attendee Sculpture Show, COOP Gallery
6:30 pm - Symposium BBQ, Old Chicken Farm Art Center
