Texas Tech University

Scholarships Update

Dean Schovanec and several recent scholarship recipents

As the largest college at Texas Tech University, Arts and Sciences places a high priority on research, learning, and scholarship. The college also places a high priority on helping students achieve their academic goals. To support these priorities, Arts and Sciences distributed over $94,00 in Academic Achievement Scholarships and over $118, 500 in Need Based Scholarships to students for the 2010-2011 Academic year. We feel that these scholarships are important investments in students and in society at large. The dividends from investments such as this enrich the lives of students and make the world a better place. One cannot measure the impact and deep influence that result from scholarship donations.

Scholarships are made possible by individuals who recognize the blessings they have received and who want to give back to help future generations. Helping students get college degrees is such a worthy endeavor, especially in the hard economic times we are currently experiencing. The College of Arts and Sciences is constantly looking for ways to provide more opportunities and more scholarships for students. If you would like to contribute to the Arts and Sciences Scholarship fund or would like to set up a scholarship, please contact Wendell Jeffreys or Emily Phillips in the Dean's office (806-742-3833).
