Microbiologist -- Infectious Diseases (open rank)

The Department of Biological Sciences at Texas Tech University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at all levels from individuals having a PhD, MD/PhD, DVM/PhD, or equivalent degree; postdoctoral experience, and strong research productivity.  We seek a microbiologist who uses molecular or system approaches to study the pathogenesis of bacteria, viruses, fungi or parasites.  The successful candidate is expected to establish an independent, extramurally funded research program, participate in the teaching of Microbiology courses to undergraduate and graduate students, and contribute to departmental governance and university service. To be considered above the Assistant Professor level, candidates must demonstrate an outstanding record of productivity and significant existing extramural funding.

The Department of Biological Sciences offers a highly collegial and diverse research environment with close ties to the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.  The new faculty member will receive a competitive salary, start-up package, suitable laboratory space, and access to all University core services including the Imaging Center, the Center for Biotechnology and Genomics, and a BSL3 facility.
