Graduate Research Assistantship
A graduate research assistantship (Ph.D.) in the Department of Biological Sciences at Texas Tech University is available to study the functional genomics of abscisic acid signaling in Arabidopsis (see Abstract T04-85, http://www.arabidopsis.org/servlets/TairObject?type=publication&id=501713708 ).
The successful applicant will have molecular biology experience, a strong interest in basic research, and will characterize the function of gene family members homologous to the ABA-INSENSITIVE-1-like protein phosphatases or the ABI3-like transcription factors, using transient and stable overexpression, knockout lines, transcriptome profiling, in situ hybridization, and physiological and molecular assays of ABA responses. Salary is commensurate with experience.
Please send GRE and TOEFL test scores, a statement of purpose, and the names and contact addresses (preferably email) of three referees to Chris Rock, Dept of Biological Sciences, ms 43131, Texas Tech University, Lubbock TX 79409-3131 (email: firstname.lastname@example.org).
