Graduate Research Assistantship

A graduate research assistantship (Ph.D.) in the Department of Biological Sciences at Texas Tech University is available to study the functional genomics of abscisic acid signaling in Arabidopsis (see Abstract T04-85, http://www.arabidopsis.org/servlets/TairObject?type=publication&id=501713708 ).

The successful applicant will have molecular biology experience, a strong interest in basic research, and will characterize the function of gene family members homologous to the ABA-INSENSITIVE-1-like protein phosphatases or the ABI3-like transcription factors, using transient and stable overexpression, knockout lines, transcriptome profiling, in situ hybridization, and physiological and molecular assays of ABA responses.  Salary is commensurate with experience.
