Computing

The core facility offers a variety of computing software that assists users in accessing DNA analysis results, manipulating DNA segments, and data analysis for proteins.

  • Vector NTI
Vector NTI allows users to display DNA analysis segments, align contigs, and further manipulate the analyzed DNA data. It can open and edit both .abi and .scf files. There is a free trial version of this software on the Invitrogen website, but the company is no longer offering researchers the full license for free. You can try the trial version by clicking here. If you have any questions about this software, please contact us.
  • MASCOT
The Core Facility also has an in-house license for MASCOT, a powerful search engine that uses mass spectrometry data to identify proteins from primary sequence databases. More information on this software can be found on the Matrix Science website by clicking here.
  • GenePix Pro
This software is used in conjunction with our GenePix® Autoloader 4200AL and is available for use in the core facility lab. It is an image analysis software for microarrays, tissue arrays and cell arrays.
  • CEQ 8000
In addition to Vector NTI, software users can download the CEQ 8000 software from the Beckman website. This software allows users to re-analyze raw data using different parameters. It also allows users to do fragment analysis.
