Incorporating Active Learning in the Curriculum
Monday, January 27th
4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
153 Teaching, Learning, and Professional Development Center
This workshop, facilitated by the Center for Active Learning and Undergraduate Engagement, is designed for applicants or potential applicants of the Office of the President's Active Learning Faculty Incentive Program. This incentive program assists faculty in modifying existing syllabi, or with the development of original courses, that more effectively infuse their classrooms with proven active learning pedagogies.
Faculty participants will engage in individual reflection and significant course redesign to incorporate undergraduate research, service learning, internships, or study abroad into their standard course offerings. Members of the panel will discuss best practices and work with faculty to make meaningful course revisions. Faculty members are encouraged to bring syllabi for courses in which they plan to employ active learning.
