Company XYZ was established in 1998 as a non-profit organization which provides assistance to families with severely ill children. Services include transportation to and from hospitals (if families are from out of town or have no means of transportation), light grocery shopping, meal preparation, cleaning, babysitting for siblings and support groups for parents and siblings.


Company XYZ has internship opportunities in the following areas:

(Specific Intern Duties)

Marketing
• Assisting in devising a new marketing campaign to Lubbock community for both families who may need assistance, volunteers, and financial supporters
• Updating website
• Sending information to various media

Fund Raising
• Assisting with developing a fund raising campaign set to kick off in January 2004
• Assisting with our annual "Socks to Tots" Campaign
• Developing a summer fund raising event

Volunteer Recruiter
• Discovering new market to tap for volunteer
recruitment
• Developing volunteer informational brochure and volunteer training manual
• Assisting in training volunteers
• Assisting in volunteer assignments and schedules
• Sitting in on meetings with families who are new to
the program to determine needs
• Recruiting volunteers to man special events throughout the year

Company XYZ is looking for energetic interns (Qualities) who can work a flexible schedule (approximately 10-15 hours a week) (hours), who enjoy the service industry and who are able to work at least a summer or a semester's length of time. The internship may be extended.
We are willing to work with any level college student (Classification). Majors which would best fit the internship include: Marketing, Public Relations, Social Work, but we are open to others who may be interested in non-profit or service industries (Majors). The internship is not paid (Paid/ Non-paid), however there are many opportunities to receive excellent practical experience.
