Career Center services are provided for all students and alumni of Texas Tech University. By registering with the Career Center, you will have access to the on-campus e-recruiting system as well as all of the full-time employment positions and internships posted with our office. Once you have uploaded your resume in the system, your resume will be available to be viewed on-line by employers that are registered with the Career Center. An employer will then be able to search our resume database and contact you based on the information supplied in your resume. How
To Register: Login: To login to e-recruiting, go to our Web site at www.careercenter.ttu.edu and click on the 'Experience e-Recruiting Quick Link. You login to Experience e-Recruiting using your e-mail address as the Username and the last four digits of your SSN as the Password. Click the Login button. NOTE: If
you were previously enrolled in the BrassRing system, you must use the
username and password you previously used in BrassRing. Passwords
may be changed once you are logged into the e-recruiting system. Registration: Step 1: Once you have logged in to Experience e-Recruiting, you may enter/update your personal information or change your password. Click on Profile located at the top of your screen, then click the link to the right of View: that denotes the information you'd like to enter/update. NOTE: The link 'MBA Placement' is intended only for MBA students. Step 2: Uploading your Resume and other documents Click the Documents tab located at the top of your screen and then select the type of document you wish to upload from the Upload Documents drop-down list. NOTE: Experience will only accept documents in *.doc or *.rtf formats. Click
the Browse button and find your document located on either your
computer's hard drive (C:) or on your 3½ floppy disk (A:). Highlight
the document by left clicking on the file. Once you have highlighted the
file, click the Open button. Your file should appear in the
text box next to the Browse button. Click the Upload button.
Please wait for this process to complete. The upload status will change from Converting to Ready once you resume is uploaded. Step 3: Publishing your Resume Click the Documents tab on the navigation bar located near the top of the page. Locate the Publish Resume section and click the Go link. Select the resume to publish, and then select the resume book you want the resume published to. Next, click the Save Changes button. NOTE:
Certain resume books are restricted to students who meet criteria defined
by the Career Center. Start On-Campus Interviewing: Step 4: Searching for Jobs, Internships, Co-ops Login to your e-recruiting account at www.careercenter.ttu.edu following the procedures shown above (under Logging into Experience e-Recruiting). Click on the Job & Internships tab on the navigation bar located near the top of the screen. You may conduct a narrow search of employment opportunities in the Specific Search section by selecting Jobs, Internships, or Co-ops, entering your search criteria, then clicking Search. The system will return the search results that satisfy your search criteria. Another way to search for employment opportunities is to locate the Quick Search box located on your home page Type in keywords in the Enter Keywords field, select the Jobs, Internships, or Co-ops radio button, and then click Search. The system will return the search results that satisfy your search criteria. Step 5: Searching for Employers Login to your e-recruiting account at www.careercenter.ttu.edu following the procedures shown above (under Logging into Experience e-Recruiting). Click on the Employers tab on the navigation bar located near the top of the screen. Locate the Search for Employers section. You may search alphabetically for an employer by selecting the first letter of the employer name, scrolling through the list of employer names, then clicking on the desired employer name. You may also search for a specific employer by typing the name of the employer in the Search by Employer Name field and clicking Search. To search for employers in a specific industry, locate the Search by Industry drop-down lost, select an industry, and then click Search. The system will return the search results that satisfy your search criteria. Step 6: Creating and Using Search Agents Login to your e-recruiting account at www.careercenter.ttu.edu following the procedures shown above (under Logging into Experience e-Recruiting). Click on the Job & Internships tab on the navigation bar located near the top of the screen. Locate the Specific Search section and select the Jobs, Internships, or Co-op tab. Enter your search criteria as either Basic Search (default setting) or use See More Search Options. Next, select the check box Save this search criteria as a "Saved Search". Name the search and click Save. The search will be saved in the Saved Search section on the Jobs & Internships page. NOTE: Saved searches allow you to save the parameters for a frequently executed search so you can access results with one click. You can choose to have an e-mail automatically sent to you when a new opportunity is posted that matches your search. Step 7: Signing Up for Interviews Log into your e-recruiting account at www.careercenter.ttu.edu following the procedures shown above (under Logging into Experience e-Recruiting). Click on the Applications tab on the navigation bar located near the top of the screen. The Applications page displays with a list of your active applications The status of your active applications is displayed in the Employer Decision column. Once an employer has "accepted" your job application, you may sign up for an interview time. NOTE: If the Application Sign Up date hasn't occurred, you must wait until that date to sign up for an interview time. Click on Sign Up. On the Application Details page, under Employer Decision, click on Sign up for Interview. On the Interview Sign Up page, find the schedule date you would like to sign up for and select the radio button associated with the time slot you desire. Finally, click Save and your interview time is reserved. NOTE: If
you do not want to accept the interview invitation, click on Decline
this invitation for an interview. If you decline the invitation, your
application will be withdrawn and you will not be able to reapply to the
position. Click Decline to confirm your decision. Final Notes: You should login to e-recruiting at least twice a week to find out what companies are coming on campus, to check for important announcements, to find out interview dates, to check the status of pre-selects, and to RSVP to events. Doing so will keep you up-to-date with our office and help you to effectively use Experience e-Recruiting Keep in mind that when you sign up for an interview, this is a commitment you are making. If you must cancel, or if it is necessary to do so on the day of the interview, call the Career Center at (806)742-2210. Do not be a no-show. Repeated "no-shows" will not be permitted to sign up for additional interviews. It is simply professional courtesy to honor your appointments.
