TTU Home Student Affairs University Career Services

Welcome

You have assisted your child through New Student Orientation, helped them register for classes, dropped them off at their new residence, and paid your first tuition bill. After either the tears of sadness or shouts of joy, there is one more step to take: inform your child of the services offered at University Career Services located in the Wiggins Complex. The fact that your child is not at home anymore, does not necessarily mean that you can no longer be involved in his or her life. Here, you will find ways to get involved through University Career Services at Texas Tech University. If you have any questions about your student's future out in the "Real World," we would like to assist in any way we can.

Texas Tech University Mission Statement:
As a public research university, Texas Tech advances knowledge through innovative and creative teaching, research, and scholarship. The university is dedicated to student success by preparing learners to be ethical leaders for a diverse and globally competitive workforce. The university is committed to enhancing the cultural and economic development of the state, nation, and world.

Because University Career Services sees a student's career development as a part of a student's overall college and life experience, our focus is to assist in career development and education. University Career Services not only provides an extensive "job bank" software, but we also counsel with your student to explore deep into all the factors that influence his or her decision on careers. Through counseling efforts we can help your student select career paths and internship endeavors.

Even though your child is in college and starting to make his or her own decisions, you as a parent can continue to play an important role in helping your child make effective decisions. The purpose of this Web page is to give you an avenue by which you can have your questions and concerns addressed. University Career Services at Texas Tech wishes to provide you with resources with which you can become a career coach for your student and to suggest ways in which you as a parent can become more involved with the Career Services as well as with the University at large.  We hope you find our Web site to be a helpful resource.  Please feel free to contact a member of our University Career Services staff at (806) 742-2210, or TTUCareerServices@ttu.edu to ask questions and make suggestions.
