Veterans Career Program Overview of Services
Career Needs Assessment. A counselor will meet with you to identify your individual career needs and create a plan for assisting you in your career development efforts.
Career Testing. Career tests can help you identify your interests, strengths, values, and career preferences, as well as identify possible career paths and majors. Tests are administered online and at UCC. A counselor will help you identify which assessments may be most helpful and review your results with you. All tests are free to students.
Job Search Resources. A counselor will assist you in writing and editing a resume, utilizing Hire Red Raiders to search and apply for jobs and internships available to TTU students, connect with professionals through the Raider Mentor Network (alumni willing to assist current students with career development), and other online resources.
Career Workshops. Our Career Cafes are workshops available through the semester to provide information on topics such as job search strategies, networking, using social media, military experience in the world of work, and how to work a job fair. Schedule of presentations are posted online or available at UCC.
Mock Interviews. A counselor will help you prepare for interviews for an internship, employment, or graduate/professional school. Interviews can be over the phone, one-on-one, or with a panel of interviewers to provide practice and feedback for the real thing.
Transition to Civillian Work. A counselor can assist you in translating your military experience into career readiness, using online resources effectively, practicing professional etiquette, and connecting with professionals in your career.
