I wanted to go into nursing because of a mentor I have had throughout my life. She helped deliver my little brother and let me shadow her. When researching nursing schools, Texas Tech Health Sciences Center stuck out to me. After being turned down for the program once, I decided to apply again. I prepared for my interview through the Career Center on campus. I am now happy to say that I will begin classes at TTUHSC this summer! I am so excited to learn in the facilities that Texas Tech has to offer. I am especially looking forward to working in the SIM Life Center and learning from the fantastic staff.

I had a wonderful time going through my mock interview. Dominique Massey did a fantastic job working with me after every question and answer. I honestly think that this mock interview made all the difference in my admittance into TTUHSC. I felt very prepared going into my nursing interview. This preparedness helped me feel more relaxed throughout the process. I tend to end my responses in interviews pretty badly. I learned from my visit at the UCC that when finishing an answer to an interview question, close your response with rewording the question. This tip was especially helpful during my actual nursing interview.
