Graphic Designer at Hobby Lobby

Hobby Lobby has always been one of my favorite stores to go into. Even if I was going there for something small, I'd spend hours in there looking around at all of the decor and art supplies. When I saw the position opening, I applied immediately. I was so excited when I got the offer because not only is it an amazing opportunity, they offer so many great benefits, I'd be crazy to turn it down. Getting to work for them is a dream come true, knowing something I made could end up a part of someone else's life, whether it be a birthday card, fabric for a dress, or a sketchbook.

I worked for the UCC for a little over a year, and it was a life-changing experience. Everyone was so enthusiastic about my job search and open to helping in any way they could. Dominique helped me make my resume as best as it could be. I also had a mock interview with Ashley, which was such a great help for me to practice my responses to off-the-cuff questions I may not have anticipated prior. Before and after graduation, I also utilized the interview rooms for multiple phone and Skype interviews.

The UCC helped me become more confident in myself and my abilities as a graphic designer. They helped me polish my resume and make sure my interview would go as smooth as possible. I can't thank them enough! The tip that helped me the most was definitely to dress up even if it's just phone interview. Even just wearing a nice blazer during phone interviews made me feel more confident when speaking to different companies.
