What are the benefits of attending Red Raider Camp?
Red Raider Camp provides you with the opportunity to start
building friendships and transitioning to life as a college
student. This student-run and student-led camp is a great way to
start your career as a Red Raider.
How much does Red Raider Camp cost?
The registration fee is $150.
The registration fee covers your lodging, meals,
activities, and three camp t-shirts. The expense to the student
will be for travel to and from Junction.
*Please note: After June 1, 2008, NO refunds will be
given, even if you register after June 1, 2008.
What if I don't get assigned to the session I picked as No.
1??
Camp sessions fill up quickly; therefore, we ask you to rank the
sessions in order of your preferences. We will try to place you
in one of your top three choices.
Can Gateway students attend Red Raider
Camp-Transfer Edition?
Red Raider Camp-transfer
Edition is specifically
designed for incoming transfer students that will be attending classes on
the Texas Tech campus; so, it is not for Gateway students.
What is the difference between New Student Orientation (NSO)
and Red Raider Camp (RRC)-Transfer Edtion?
NSO Deals with the fundamental necessities of college (i.e.,
housing, meal plans, parking, and registering for classes,
etc.). Red Raider Camp is more about introducing transfer
students to the campus culture and giving them a head start in
their college career. At Red Raider Camp you don't just hear
about all the great traditions of Texas Tech, but you actually
experience them; while making new friends at the same time!
When will I
receive confirmation that I am attending camp?
You will receive a registration confirmation e-mail to your
eRaider e-mail account upon registration. Please note that you
are not confirmed for camp until we receive your medical release
form and your registration fee. In addition to the confirmation
e-mail you will receive a confirmation letter in the mail.
What if I decide to cancel?
There are only spots for a limited number of incoming students
to attend camp, so it is important that when you sign up for camp you plan on
attending. We will give refunds until June 1, 2008, for cancellations
that submit the RRC Cancellation Form in writing. Cancellation forms
can be mailed or faxed your cancellation.

What should I bring
to Red Raider Camp?
- Two sets of clothing and extra socks (a shirt will be provided for all three days)
- Sturdy closed-toe tennis shoes (that are appropriate for activities such as basketall, volleyball, ropes course, etc.)
- flashlight
- Bed linens and blanket for a single-sized bed and your pillow
- Towels - Bath and Swim
- Toiletries (toothpaste, toothbrush, etc.)
- Shower Shoes
- Swimsuit
- Sunscreen
- Your Texas Tech e-mail address, and phone number (if your have received it)
- Camera
- Any medications you are taking
- Fun attire for the mixer
What should I NOT to bring to Red Raider Camp- Transfer Edition?
- Ipod
- Laptop computers
- Any valuables you can't live without or risk losing
