presents
Homecoming 2004 "Unmasking the Future"

Dear Student Organization/Business/Community Leader:

Once again, Homecoming is upon us. This has always been a time for tradition and reflection at Texas Tech University, where students, alumni, faculty, staff, and the Lubbock community come together in support of our great school. Soon, you too will be the one looking back with fond memories of Texas Tech.

For the past several months, it has been the job of the Tech Homecoming Association to plan for Homecoming 2004: Unmasking the Future. We are honoring the 50th Anniversary of the Masked Rider this year, and I would like to personally invite each of you to participate in as many planned events as possible during Homecoming week.

We will start the week off with a bang in the United Spirit Arena on Monday, October 4, for the S.O. Sing contest. Then join us on Tuesday, October 5, for the Homecoming Style Show, also held in the United Spirit Arena. Your support will be greatly appreciated on Wednesday, October 6, as the Texas Tech Volleyball team takes on the University of Texas in the United Spirit Arena. We will take a break on Thursday as we prepare for a very busy weekend, but be sure to attend the Techsan Memorial at 6:00 pm in Memorial Circle to honor all Red Raiders who have past away this preceding year. On Friday, October 8, the Homecoming Court will be announced at noon during the Rowdy Raider Rally in front of the Student Union. At 5:30 pm that evening, we will host the very first Homecoming Block Party, located at the Tech Rugby Fields on 18th St. between Flint and Indiana. Along with games and contests for all in attendance, we plan to have an assortment of local restaurants on hand to provide free food, as well as a radio station and much, much more. Beginning at 9:00 pm, we will start the night off with the Bonfire and Pep Rally, and conclude the evening with the crowning of this year's Homecoming King and Queen. Rounding out the week's events will be the Homecoming Parade at 10:00 am on Saturday, October 9. And, as always, the week will conclude in Jones SBC Stadium, as our Texas Tech Red Raiders take on the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers.

The Tech Homecoming Association is looking forward to working with each and every one of you. Attached, you will find all the information you need to involve your organization/business in Tech's greatest tradition. Should you have any questions regarding Homecoming events and participation, or about the applications, please contact me at ttuhomecoming@hotmail.com or call 742-5433, ext. 246.
