Geotechnical Engineering
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Texas Tech University invites applications for a full time tenure-track position at the assistant or associate professor rank in the general area of geotechnical engineering.
Successful candidates will hold a doctorate in civil engineering or a closely related field in an appropriate specialty area, and should hold or be qualified for professional licensure. Candidates with expertise in computational mechanics, constitutive modeling and geotechnical instrumentation will be given special consideration. Responsibilities include developing an internationally recognized research program and teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, with the opportunity to develop course(s) in his/her area of expertise. Additional responsibilities include collaboration with other faculty, mentoring undergraduate and graduate students, and institutional and professional service. Securing competitive grants, establishing a strong publication record, and demonstration of scholarship in teaching and research are required. Design experience is desirable. The search committee will begin reviewing applications immediately and continue until it has found successful candidate(s).

Water Resources and Hydrology

The department awards bachelor's (BSCE), master's (MSCE), and doctoral degrees in civil engineering, as well as a five-year professional Master of environmental engineering (MEnvE). The BSCE and MEnvE degree programs are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET. Current enrollment is approximately 575 undergraduate and 100 graduate students.

Research responsibilities include developing an internationally recognized research program in water resources or hydrology in the following or related specialties: stochastic hydrology, engineered water systems, climate variability, or environmental hydrodynamics. Teaching requirements include undergraduate and graduate courses, with the opportunity to develop course(s) in his/her area of expertise. Additional responsibilities include mentoring undergraduate and graduate students and institutional and professional service. Securing competitive grants, establishing a strong publication record, and demonstration of scholarship in teaching and research is required. Design experience is desirable.
