Research Interests

I am a Ph.D. student in materials engineering within the Transportation Cluster of the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Construction Engineering. The primary focus of my research is "Rheological Characterization of Highly Modified Asphalt Binders." Asphalt, a bi-product of crude oil refining, is a major highway construction material that changes its rheological properties with temperature and time of loading. My dissertation will address advanced rheological properties of asphalt to improve its performance under extreme climate regimes. I joined the graduate program in the department in the fall semester of 2013 and I am a member of Dr. Sanjaya Senadheera's research group.
