
Instructions for Obtaining, Installing, and Registering ChemCAD
- To print this page, select Print under File.
You can obtain a copy of the software by providing a blank CD-R or blank CD-RW to Anand Chiravuri who will then provide you with a burned copy.
** For any issues with using ChemCad in the Computer Lab, kindly get in touch with IT helpdesk at the Main Office.
Starting and Registering ChemCAD for the first time:
- Start ChemCAD by selecting ChemCAD for Windows under Programs in the Start taskbar.
- The Chemstations logo will appear followed by a text screen (may take a few minutes to load).
- Exit the text screen. A license configuration screen will appear.
- Click on the Sys Auth tab to obtain the system key number needed to register your copy of ChemCAD with Chemstations. You can an obtain authorization form by clicking here and printing a copy of the form.
- Submit this form with the "System Key" authorization number to Dr. Wiesner for his signature.
- Fax this form to Chemstations Inc. at the number given on the form. You may use the department fax. Dial 88-1-area code-number. Chemstations will then fax the form back to the Chemical Engineering department with the authorization key. When we receive them, we put them in a manila folder on the desk containing the student catalogs in the Chemical Engineering main office (CHE 204).
- Once you receive the authorization key, enter it into the space for License Key. Then click on the verify and save license key button.
- Press OK and exit out of ChemCAD.
- Launch the program again using step 1.
- Click the Control option at the top left of the screen and select License Configuration. Select the Product Matrix tab and verify that ChemCAD, CC-Therm, CC-DCOLUMN, and CC-Reacs are all authorized. Once this is done, give yourself a great big pat on the back.
