Chemical Engineering Core Courses

The basic plan for the Master of Science in Chemical Engineering requires a minimum of twenty−four (24) hours of graduate−level course work, each of which must have an average of a 3.0 GPA. Within the twenty−four hours of course work, the following five (5) courses are required:

Additionally, one (1) additional Chemical Engineering course and two (2) elective courses are required to complete the twenty−four hours of graduate course work. Once all the graduate student’s course work and thesis are complete, he/she is required to take a final exam. This exam will be comprehensive and cover all of the course work which the student has taken.

Thesis Requirements

The graduate student is required to complete six (6) hours of thesis research in order to graduate. Each graduate student must choose an advisor to oversee their progress and guide them throughout their thesis research. Once the student has completed his/her thesis, he/she must present their exam in an oral presentation to defend their thesis.
