Bio-Engineering
Chemical Engineering areas of strength lie in bioprocess optimization and control, cellular signal transduction, and biofluid mechanics. The Texas Tech University System offers a combination of interdisciplinary expertise that equips it well to address bioengineering challenges in the 21st century. This expertise lies in the College of Engineering (specifically Chemical, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering), the Health Sciences Center, TIEHH, and the Institute for Mathematics in the Life Sciences. Through synergistic cooperation, the TTU System can make potentially significant contributions in the aforementioned areas, plus the fields of biomaterials, biosignal processing, bioimage processing, biomechanics, and biosensors/measurements.
