Advice for Transfer Students for Chemical Engineering at TTU
Transfer students from junior colleges will take a minimum of three years to graduate with B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from TTU. Students are encouraged to take the following courses at their junior college before matriculating at TTU:
- Chem 1307/1107 Principles Chem I
- Chem 1308/1108 Principles Chem II
- Phys 1408 Physics I (calculus-based)
- Math 1351 Calculus I
- Math 1352 Calculus II
- Computer Science 1411 (not necessary but helpful)
Students should ideally matriculate in the fall since CH E 2410, which is a prerequisite for all other Chemical Engineering courses, is only offered in the fall semester. Consequently, transfer students who matriculate in the spring term will take a minimum of three and a half years to graduate.
Transfer students who have already taken Chemical Engineering courses at another institution will need to have those courses evaluated during the transfer process. Our goal is to ensure that students have the requisite knowledge upon graduation, while at the same time, minimizing the need to retake courses.
