Thermoquest 2000 Trace Ion Trap GC-MS
The Polaris GCQ Plus GC-MS ion trap can introduce samples into the analyzer either by a Direct Insertion Probe or by Gas Chromatography through the transfer line. Ionization is either by Electron Impact or Chemical Ionization MS with a mass cut off of 1000 amu and mass resolution of 1 amu. A slightly polar DB-5 capillary column is currently installed for GC runs with helium as the carrier gas and isobutane as the reagent gas for CI analysis.
