MA Program in Classics
The MA Program in Classics is designed to prepare students for vigorous academic careers in Classics and associated
fields, such as archaeology and museum studies. The program provides rigorous training in the fundamentals of classical scholarship with a view to the demands of both teaching and
research. Successful students develop both a broad understanding of classical languages and culture, and special expertise in diverse areas
of classical studies. Our MA program provides you with scope to advance your job prospects, to deepen your understanding of themes
and periods of the past, to engage more critically with debates and issues, and to develop new skills in researching, thinking, and presenting.
Our department is very proud of our graduate students and alumni. We have a 100% placement rate for M.A. degree holders seeking positions in
secondary education.
