Caitlin Mongrain


Cait Mongrain recently graduated from Texas Tech University with her M.A. in Classics, with a thesis entitled The Spectacle of the "New": Novelty in the Roman Arena as a Literary Trope. She has served as editorial assistant to the American Journal of Philology since May 2014, following previous work with the journal Intertexts. Alongside her work at the AJP, she has taught or assisted courses in Ancient Greek, Comparative Mythology, Classical Mythology, and Ancient Sport and Spectacle. Her research currently focuses on literary depictions of the Roman arena, with conference presentations on the subject at Harvard University and UCLA. For the upcoming semester, Ms. Mongrain will be employed as an Instructor for first- and second-year Latin.
