Assistant Director of the Language Laboratory and Research Center

The Assistant Director of the Language Laboratory and Research Center (LLRC) is responsible for assisting the Director in the administration of the LLRC educational resources area. The Assistant Director assists in supervision and training of LLRC personnel. The successful candidate will be expected to provide technological support to faculty and students in CMLL, provide faculty with both technical and pedagogical advice, appraise emerging pedagogical innovations, assist faculty in locating and obtaining grants, and supervise the IT personnel of the LLRC. The Assistant Director will also be willing to train for IT, as needed and be available when the Director is out and perform other duties as needed.

Preferred qualifications include: at a Bachelor’s Degree with experience in CALL (Computer Aided Language Learning) and CMC (Computer Mediated Communications). Preference will be given to candidates with a Master's Degree in Applied Linguistics, Second Language Acquisition, Second/Foreign Language Studies, Instructional Technology, or related field, experience teaching foreign language at the high school or college level, experience using digital tools for second/foreign language learning and proficiency in a second language.
