| Assistant or Associate Professor position in Spanish Texas Tech University, a research institution with over 32,000 students, seeks an Assistant Professor/Associate Professor in Spanish to start Fall 2012. We are interested in hiring a dynamic individual to coordinate the lower level program in Spanish. Preferred specialization would be in Second Language Acquisition or Applied Linguistics, perhaps with a specialization in Heritage speakers. Special consideration will be given to candidates with an ability to teach in Portuguese Studies. Native or near-native fluency in Spanish is required; responsibilities include an ongoing program of research and commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching. | Assistant Professor position in Classical Archaeology The Department of Classical & Modern Languages & Literatures at Texas Tech University seeks applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Classical Archaeology. We seek applicants with a record of teaching, research, and publication in Roman archaeology and material culture, who will be able to teach surveys in Roman archaeology and material culture at the graduate and undergraduate levels and to complement existing faculty interests. The candidate should also be capable of teaching existing core courses in the program: such as Sports and Spectacles in the Ancient World, World of the Near East, Gender and Sexuality.
