Assistant Professor position in Spanish

Texas Tech University, a research institution with over 32,000 students, seeks an Assistant Professor in Spanish with a specialization in Contemporary Latin American Literature to start Fall 2012. Special consideration will be given to candidates with an ability to teach in Portuguese Studies. Native or near-native fluency in Spanish is required; responsibilities include an ongoing program of research and commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching. Candidate will contribute to a strong doctoral program in Spanish. Preference will be given to candidates who have very strong records of scholarship supported by extramural funding and who have the proven capacity or clear potential to bring externally sponsored research to Texas Tech University.
