Can you pursue Graduate Studies and Teach?

Yes, it's possible. The graduate program in Spanish at Texas Tech University offers you the possibility of completing a Master's and Doctorate in Spanish while teaching university-level classes in Spanish languages, literatures and cultures.

Who are we?

The Department of Classical and Modern Languages and Literatures is one of the largest departments at Texas Tech University. It has its own building on campus, an excellent language laboratory and a magnificent library collection and archive (The Hispanic Collection) that have been donated over the years by important researchers.

Students in the program study with illustrious professors of international reputation.

Those professors are especially proud of the initiative and intellectual collaboration with the graduate students who have created their own association and journal (Céfiro). The graduate students also organize an annual annual conference in the department. We have a dynamic, growing program that needs people like you to share in our teaching and research.

The University of Texas Tech is in Lubbock, a growing city of more than 200,000 people with a vibrant student culture (the university has more than 30,000 students). Lubbock has excellent hospitals, an international airport and nearby state parks that include incredible “Wild West”-type canyons.
