The Language Lab handles the reservations and scheduling of several areas. These areas can be reserved for one-time use, or if needed several times through-out a semester. Please email Geazul Hernandez or call the Language Lab at (806) 742-3151 ext 282 to make arrangements. Listed below are the areas that require reservations:
|Main lab area||Small computer lab|
|Qualia room||DH Lab|
|Room 18 (small conference room)||Room 20 (library)|
The Lab has the right to change or cancel reservations if needed. The Lab will contact the involved party to work on an alternate time/place in such situations.
To reserve time in the other classrooms, please contact Liz Hildebrand, CMLL Senior Advisor.
The lab has five carts with laptops on them, available for check-out to CMLL instructors for classroom use. Two of the carts also have projectors and/or speakers, if needed. Depending on availability, these can be checked out on a one-time basis (to be returned at the end of the class of that day) or for a semester at a time (still to be checked in and out each class period). Please email Geazul Hernandez or call the Language Lab at (806) 742-3151 ext 282 to make arrangements.
The Lab has equipment available for check-out to CMLL faculty and grad students. These items must be returned to the Lab by 5pm the same day. Here is a list of items available for check-out:
If you use a video camera or portable audio recorder and wish to have its media delivered to you on a CD/DVD, there is a 24-hour advance notice; we will not be able to immediately copy over any items, to better serve everyone. If you prefer to have its media on a USB flash drive instead, you must provide it to us. We can only copy over media recorded on the device; any editing, post-processing, etc. will need to be done yourself. We offer the DH Lab, which has a variety of options for working with audio, images and video files.
The Lab can provide ad hoc, incidental test proctoring services, typically for one or just a few students. (Except in extreme, unusual cases, proctoring entire classes is usually not a possibility). During a proctoring scenario, the Lab will provide whatever test or activity materials the instructor has provided, and will follow parameters as specified in the reservation (such as time limits, whether to allow access to peripheral materials such as dictionaries or other books, etc.). Please email Geazul Hernandez or call the Language Lab at (806) 742-3151 ext 282 to make arrangements. Note that the overall schedule of the Lab and staff availability may impact the facility's ability to provide proctoring in a given time frame.
