Language teaching, Second Language Acquisition, or Applied Linguistics research interests.

I am interested in various research designs that students of Applied Linguistics might use and the data collection instruments that might be used within the design. I am also interested in test design and validation. And finally, program evaluation.

Jornals or book series edited.

I started a book series on research methods in Japan for the TESOL affiliate. The series was titled, JALT Applied Materials or JAM. I and co-author David Nunan edit a monograph on classroom research. I also edited several monographs by other authors.

Editoral board memberships

I am a reviewer for the TESOL Journal, a newly established on-line journal for teacher research.
